Balvenie Single Barrel was first released in 1994 to huge acclaim across the whisky world. Using only a single Bourbon Barrel with no more than 300 bottles being bottled. Fast forward almost 3 decades and you'll recognise immediately that the format of the Stories releases are strikingly similar, almost a direct replacement to the much loved Single Barrel releases.
This expression was joined by another 3 releases each bottled at different ages and finished in a variety of different Cask types for A collection of Curious Casks that make up Story No.10 in the Stories series. Distilled in 2006, matured using traditional Oak Casks the transferred in a single New Spanish Oak Cask #1 for a period then bottled at 17 years old which was available at the distillery in very limited numbers.
